01 — Our Goats
It begins with our award-winning herd of Nubian dairy goats and a commitment to attentive, compassionate animal stewardship. Eleven years ago, we started our closed herd by carefully selecting award-winning Nubian dairy goats from across California. Our herd has steadily grown and improved through selective breeding that includes AI with award-winning sires from across the US.
We feed and milk our goats ourselves, and each goat that we know by name is touched by one of us daily. That is combined with husbandry and barn maintenance that is a team effort every day of the year.
02 — Fresh Goat Milk
The ingredient at the heart of Caprine comes directly from the animals we know and care for every day. Our goats drink the same fresh mountain water from our well that we do, and they eat fresh, high quality alfalfa this grown by a neighboring farm. Throughout the year, we watch the alfalfa as it grows nearby, gets cut and baled, and we know of each delivery to us without looking by the unmistakable sound of the hay squeeze as it arrives at the pasture gate.
A visiting Le Cordon Bleu chef commented that the milk from our dairy has a 'superb milk profile'. We know that this is the direct result of the highest quality goats, who are in impeccable health, that drink the fresh water and eat premium quality alfalfa.
We know that the foundation for the high quality of our goat milk skincare products is the exceptional milk produced by our goats. It is unmistakable, and we literally taste it every day in the milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream that our family enjoys here on the farm.
